IS IT HARDER TO TOOT, OR TO TUTOR TWO TOOTERS TO TOOT?

How ironic is it that the rest of the world seems to be thirsting for liberty, cultural stability, free markets, rule of law, and individualism while America, staggering under the weight of a pompous and intellectually stagnant elite class, a complicit new media, and their enabling “cut me a check and make that latte a decaf” true believers is being dragged down the slippery slope of socialism and its accompanying big government cradle-to-grave tyranny?

It's enough to make you heave stones.

But there’s hope, although the mainstream media chooses not to tell you what’s going on, and you only have to read the foreign press and read the comments of our neighbors across the pond.

After France woke up and rejected the socialists last year, the United Kingdom just delivered the lefties in Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s Labour Party a humiliating crushing blow, its worse defeat in history, and for good measure elected a Conservative mayor of London for the first time in thirty years:

If you want to know what rank-and-file Brits think about what these people have done to This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England”, you should read their letters to the editor column sometimes, instead of listening to the propagandists who want to send us down the path of centralized control, open boarders, climate alarmism, limited speech, and mediocrity for all (except the elites in charge).

Here’s one sample of Londoners’ feelings about the ousting of Mayor Ken Livingstone in the London Telegraph:

I'm sorry but I can't formulate a reasonable answer to the question... I'm just so jubilant that slimy little marxist got the kicking he so richly deserved. Colour me happy!!!!! - Posted by crabapple on May 03, 2008 12:26 AM

Oh, I know … I’m cherry-picking. If it isn’t on NPR, CNN, or MSNBC it isn’t news, right?

Look, things are so bad in the UK, believe it or not, illegal immigrants are sneaking OUT of the country!

The government is actually spending millions trying to stop them at the boarders too (Of course they have to make sure the illegals are only illegal and not criminal first)! Does anyone else see the irony of this?

The comments accompanying this article are choice too. What's that? Oh, you think they’re just the rantings of a bunch of bitter, Bible-thumping, gun-toting, fish-and-chippers who are down and out and have antipathy for people who don’t look and talk like them?

Okay, just go back to sleep then. I just thought you might like to know what’s going on out there and hear a few facts. Remember to turn out the light. We've got to save the planet, you know, and the less light we shed the happier our elitist superiors will be. ;-)

He's never near you to comfort and cheer you
When all those sad tears are fallin' baby from your eyes
He might be thrillin' baby but a-my love (my love, my love)
So dog-gone willin'
So kiss him (I wanna see you kiss him. I wanna see you kiss him)
Go on and kiss him goodbye
Na na na na, hey hey-ey, goodbye n
Na-na na-na, na na na na, hey hey-ey, goodbye
