ALLOW ME TO TIE A NICE NEAT BOW AROUND THE WEEK FOR YOU
IN CASE YOU MISSED (OR CAUGHT) THE SPIN OF THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA

Watching the news yesterday evening brought no surprises. Instead of reporting the reaction of the Obama camp and the Democrat Party to the president’s reiteration of a longstanding “don’t talk to murdering terrorists” policy, the entire media reported it as “Bush attacks Obama and Obama fights back!”

Par for the course, isn’t it. No wonder the major networks’ news viewership is declining, along with agenda-driven newspapers like the New York Times. They don’t care about accuracy. They know people who share their agenda don’t care, that people who don’t share it but pay attention and know better aren’t learning anything new, and that anyone who doesn’t pay close attention whom they can convince to drink their Kool Aid is gravy.

It’s all designed, by the way, to divert people’s attention from the Obama train wreck: the Jeremiah Wright fiasco, the Bill Ayres connection, the Tony Rezko trial, Obama’s humiliating defeat in West Virginia, increasingly higher negatives in nationwide polls, Democrat dissatisfaction with the Obama candidacy, the accusations by the Clinton campaign of a complicit biased media, the trends showing middle American is running away from Obama, the incessant rantings by Obama supporters that any criticism is racially motivated, and on and on.

When things are getting bad, the same old tired liberal strategies emerge anew … whine and complain that you’re being attacked, change the subject, find someone to demonize, express your outrage, and let the media and the pundits carry your water.

Imagine … a politician accusing a politician of being political! For expressing a policy.

Well, Mr. Obama, maybe instead of calling other people liars and accusing them of trying to trick “the people”, you should read the transcripts of your own debate appearances, and read your own website. It seems to me that talking to dictators, especially those who give aid and support to terrorists who kill innocent women and children as well as U.S. soldiers, that call for the destruction of the state of Israel, that thumb their noses at the civilized world, granting them all the prestige and legitimacy that comes from sitting across the table from the most powerful nation in the world, allowing them to use their meetings for propaganda purposes, is, like Sen. Clinton said, still “irresponsible and naïve”.

And what Would you have said to Adolf Hitler, Mr. Community Organizer? I’m sure the world must be holding its breath to know what could have been done to prevent the Holocaust and save tens of millions of other lives across the globe.

Sometimes, when I realize what's happening today, it just seems, "Oh, what's the use?" And then, when I look around, and think of the consequences of giving in to the depravity in the world, I'm reminded of why we must go on.

Oh beautiful, for heroes proved,
In liberating strife,
Who more than self, our country loved,
And mercy more than life,
America, America, may God thy gold refine,
Till all success be nobleness
And every gain devined.
