EVERY FEW YEARS IT'S THE SAME THING -
'WE'VE ONLY GOT TEN YEARS TO SAVE THE WORLD!'

It's like the "Going Out of Business" sign that makes you pause because it's etched in stone.

I saw Al Gore on Meet the Press Sunday. Did I have a headache! Tom Brokow is no Tim Russert, but his adoring pandering softball questioning was truly a revolting spectacle to see. Of course, his boss at NBC is General Electric so, aside from being an Al Gore admirer and an in-the-tank liberal, I’m sure he feels compelled to follow the company line as well.

Too bad that Tom doesn’t hear anything about the disintegrating man-made global warming consensus or he’d challenged Mr. Gore with some of the newest findings such as:

a) The global temperature hasn’t gone up since 1998 and has actually been going down.
b) The Sun has been unusually active over the last 75 years although it has been extremely quiet over the last year and a half.
c) There is more ice in Antarctica now than ever in recorded history.
d) Global warming has been going on on Mars, Jupiter, and other planets and moons throughout the solar system at the same time as on Earth.
e) Scientists and mathematicians have revealed serious flaws with computer models and climate statistics casting serious doubt on climate alarmist predictions.

Perhaps Tim Russert would have caught Al when he began his litany of misinformation by asserting that 9 out of the 10 warmest years on record have occurred during the last two decades.

Read the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) statistics for yourself:

http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/graphs/Fig.D.txt

Four of the highest temperature years (in the United States at least) were in the 1930’s - 1931, 1934 (the hottest on record), 1938, and 1939, two other years were 1921 and 1953.

Oh, and I’ve been tracking that arctic ice melt over the weeks too. Al repeated predictions the Arctic Ocean could be “ice-free” in five years. He didn’t mention scientists predicted there was a 50-50 chance the North Pole could be ice free this year. Maybe it's because the predictions seem to have been overblown again.

Check here to see an overview of the ice cap as of July 17 of this year. It is slightly below the average from 1979-current but covers 1 million square kilometers more than it did at this time last year:

The ice is thicker than the scientists had predicted as well and they are scrambling for "global warming" reasons to explain why that happened.

By the way, the ice always retreats in the middle of summer when the Sun's overhead 24-hours a day.

Educate yourself. You’ll be amazed at what you can learn if you don’t listen to people pushing an agenda.

Tip of the day: If you want to depend on wind for energy, remember that when the wind stops blowing the windmill stops producing electricity. You have to have it connected to a normal electrical grid. There is an enormous start-up cost, yearly maintenance, and eventually you’ll have to tear it down and dispose of it. The good side is in 15-30 years you’ll get your initial investment back. Maybe.

Obama Watch- So now that The Surge has worked and the endgame is looking brighter, Barack's ignoring the fact that his call to withdraw (no matter the bloodbath that resulted) and insistance that The Surge was fruitless would have made his Magical Mystery Tour and photo-op an impossibility.

He's also calling for more troops in Afghanistan (Where we raid villages and kill civilians) and the media are reporting it as something new. I have a suggestion. This is a NATO operation Senator. Why don't you mention this during your speeches in Europe and to the leaders of the countries with whom you're going to have discussions?

Maybe you should mention that you were wrong about The Surge as well. After all ... you're calling for another surge in Afghanistan, a country where the Soviet Union lost over 100,000 troops in the decade of the eighties.

Oh, I forgot. Although you're a chairman of a sub-Committee on European Affairs and could have explored NATO involvement in Afghanistan, you've never actually called a meeting!

Come on. You love to take credit for everything, analyze everything with 20-20 hindsight; go out on a limb for once and offer something of substance. Others have bled, died, suffered, and paid personal and political prices making tough choices while you give speeches and never have to make tough decisions. Your pomposity and arrogance are coming through loud and clear.

Daily Funny- You all saw Barack and Michelle on the New Yorker cover last week, but has anyone other than me read the surprisingly frank article written by Ryan Lizza? Do you think the Obama campaign was miffed? Do you think Lizza got a seat on the Obama Magical Mystery Tour?

Love is a burning thing
and it makes a fiery ring
bound by wild desire
I fell in to a ring of fire...

I fell in to a burning ring of fire
I went down, down, down
and the flames went higher.
And it burns, burns, burns
the ring of fire
the ring of fire.
