LEAVE IT TO A GUY WHO TAKES TWENTY MINUTES TO COMB HIS HAIR TO PLAY THE VICTIM CARD AFTER CHEATING ON HIS WIFE

Oh stop it! Haven't I heard these lame excuses on Cheaters? Can you imagine the parody we could write for Saturday Night Live?

Who could we get to host and play Joey Greco? Richard Belzer maybe?

I figured two posts on the John Edwards affair, or at least the media silence and Democrat hypocrisy in addressing it, was enough.

But now I see Edwards is explaining his "mistake" by citing the pressures the world puts on people like him when they try to do good things - like serve in Congress, run for president, and protect children from unscrupulous health practitioners - how, in effect, they feed and corrupt their poor innocent little egos and make them seem more important than they really are.

It so goes to their poor little heads.

Gag me with a spoon.

In simple terms, men cheat mainly for sex - variety, the thrill of the chase, the kink factor, curiosity, because they can, etc. Women can be so tempting and the (God-given) urge to merge so strong.

Women, by the way, I think, mainly cheat for emotional reasons - loneliness, feeling unappreciated, fears of not being attractive and sexy, romance, excitement, etc.

If John Edwards wants to open up a whole big debate on the burdens of powerful and influential people, maybe he should go the extra mile and confess whether this sort of thing has happened to him before, if it happened after he admitted to the inappropriate "liaison" to his cancer-stricken wife ... on Jerry Springer ... after a lie detector test and a paternity test to boot.

I doubt that will happen, so enough already. Sure Edwards feels singled out and he doesn't appreciate being exposed and ridiculed. He's a lawyer on top of it, and wants to make his case for leniency. Of course, no one is judging him. But he and his followers made a big deal out of him being so special ... and now everyone knows he wasn't. He was just a "typical" guy looking for a little piece of action - because he could.

He's not a big and important man anymore, and he should just accept he's a screw-up and move on. That's what real men do.

Two by two and side by side
Love's gonna find you yes it is
You just can't hide
You'll hear it call
Your heart will fall
Then love will fly
It's gonna soar
I don't care for any casanova thing
All I can say is
Love stinks
