having to prove myself again

OBAMA STOOD OPPOSED TO THE ILLINOIS 'BORN ALIVE INFANT PROTECTION ACT' ACT NO LESS THAN FOUR TIMES

One of the things that really annoys me is that, after taking pains to document issues on which I post, someone, even good friends, will challenge me after the fact with a, "I don't believe you ... prove it!" argument.

I wrote sometime back about Obama's opposition to an Illinois state law that would have required physicians to administer medical care to infants born alive after botched abortions. The post was entitled: it's alive, it's alive ... oh, crap!"

http://metaphorsbwithu.livejournal.com/171560.html

Obama has given 8-10 different excuses for opposing that bill, including the claim it would threaten Roe v Wade. You can look up the rest of them at your pleasure.

As I mentioned in my post, Obama dodged the question of an infant's human rights at the Saddleback Forum this past summer.

My post included links to a picture of the Illinois Bill and an identical Bill passed by the U.S. Senate 98-0. You can check it out.

But ... here's a CNN report on Obama's vote, although it repeats Obama's claim that the Illinois Bill was different from the Federal Bill (not true) if you STILL think I make this stuff up:

There! Satisfied? Is CNN enough?

No? Here's a link to Obama getting annoyed at the question being brought up in an interview and out-and-out lying about it:

Incidentally, the State of Illinois did eventually pass the Born Alive Act after Obama left for the U.S. Senate.

This stuff makes me so tired!

No one is pro death, at least until a kid is no longer a kid and can pick up a rifle; then I guess all bets are off.

I disagree with those who want to have, or want their expecting partner to have, and abortion. The fact that I am happily and merrily raising my own attest to that. I think that overturning Roe/Wade would be a disaster with appalling consequences.

No one is ever in favor of "waste-binning" fetuses or any other potential human life. Truth is that abortions are a fact of life. At least before the shrub got into it there was the hope that there would be a small glimmer of good to come from bad situations as the stem cells would be used for research. No one was talking harvesting and cultivating stems cells from aborted pregnancies; but thanks to the executive ban on the stem cell research the stem cells that could have gone to research ended up going in the bin. It did nothing to curb the abortion rate; but it sure did serious damage to the research side.

So yes - I disagree with Obama's vote - even though some of his reasons were valid and there WERE issues with that bill and others like it that were beyond logic and reason. So what about the shrub and his apparent desire to see the unborn and aborted end up in the bin?
