ADD THE FRENCH TO THE LIST OF COUNTRIES WHO ARE IN A SNIT OVER YET ANOTHER OBAMA GAFFE

You see, the President recently sent a letter to Jacques Chirac praising him for his opposition to the Iraq War and expressing a desire to work with him over the next four years.

http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2009/03/obama-upsets-sarkozy-with-letter-to.html

A minor problem here, though.

Jacques Chirac is no longer President of France! Nicholas Sarkozy is.

Can this presidency be any more of a disaster - and after only two months? Can you imagine had Sarah Palin done something like this?

Laughing at people's 401-K's going South on 60 Minutes.

Making fun of the disabled on the Tonight Show.

Proposing that military personnel's private insurance be responsible for their war injuries.

Proposing that employee paid health insurance be taxed (remember when he raked McCain over that one even though McCain offset the tax with a tax credit?).

Opposing school vouchers in D.C. so that poor kids could attend private schools like the ones his daughters attend.

Quadrupling the deficits over the next few years then promising to cut them in half (probably through cuts in National Defense although the media won't ask).

Pouncing on the AIG bonuses, when his own Secretary of the Treasury formulated the AIG Bailout Plan, and signed a bill that included an amendment preserving those bonuses.

Is anyone asking why all those bonuses that have been paid to executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, including over $100 million to Franklin Raines and Jamie Gorelick a few years ago, are not an issue?

Oh, yeah ... Congress authorized those, didn't they?

Short honeymoon, wasn't it? Isn't it disgusting that the media did nothing to explain who this guy was, and that 52.7% of the voters didn't care enough to find out for themselves?

Good points!

Actually, when I read the reports, I had my doubts as to whether Obama actually thought Chirac was still President.

No one will report on it in the MSM, or ask about it, so we may never know.

However, it's still fun to poke fun now with so much rich material to play with. The late night comedians had no reservations about stretching the truth with our former President nor perpetuating myths for a gag - and kick-back is only fair and appropriate.

A lot of what I say is tongue-and-cheek, and I sometimes have to think about how far in it is myself. ;-)
