arizona's illegal immigration law

***
YOU'VE HEARD THE HOWLS FROM THE MEDIA AND THE MALCONTENTS, YOU'VE SEEN THE THREATS FROM OBAMA AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AGAINST ARIZONA

You've heard people screaming about rounding up people on street-corners, about racial profiling, about how the State of Arizona, its citizens living in fear, it's institution strained to bursting, dared passed a law to actually enforce federal law ... about how it's reminiscent of Nazi Germany ... etc., etc., etc.

But have you actually read the 16 page law?

Of course you haven't.

It's easier to follow the loud mouths and chest beaters and repeat the talking points and seem so progressive and compassionate ... isn't it?

Here's the law:

Arizona's Immigration Law SB1070

Gosh! It sounds well measured and thoughtful and respectful to me.

Meanwhile the demagogues, race baiters and the people who could care less about human rights and the rule of law are playing these people like pawns in their power games. There will be marches and speeches to rile people up with the expressed purpose of inciting some reaction they can use against the lawful citizens of Arizona.

For shame!

There's murder and torture and rape and drugs and fear on both sides of the border and the federal government does NOTHING because the people who run it have their own political and social agendas.

The PRIME purpose of the federal government is to keep us safe and secure and protect our borders and it has not only abandoned us but threatened us when we follow the rule of law they purposely ignore.

Hey, you want to use that old we're "anti-immigrant" talking point? Sell that garbage to the LEGAL immigrants who've played by the rules and waited their turn.

Now you see why I warned you about former Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano! She's more concerned with loyal Americans than she is about lawbreakers swarming across the border into the United States.

On second thought, should a migration from Arizona begin, perhaps Napolitano can invite everyone who wants to to head to Washington D.C., maybe to Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, Virginia, places like that ... I'm sure they'd be well received.

One quick question, and I read the bill. What happens if a peace officer decides that the info supplied is bogus. In other words, if someone decides that you aren't supplying a true driver's licence or ID; even though someone is...

What would happen to you if you're stopped for a violation and there was reason to believe you had a fake ID?

Basically, what this law does, Kat, is codify what police are already supposed to be doing when finding an illegal immigrant.

The law simply repeats what is already in federal law and instructs police the steps to take.

The State cannot expel illegal immigrants, only turn them over to federal officers. If you are stopped for suspicious behavior, etc. and refuse to show who you are, you are going downtown.

The same goes for illegal immigrants.

Remember three years ago when Bush, Kennedy, McCain and the Dmocrats tried to ram Amnesty through, people were outraged?

What did they promise ... to protect the borders and stop the flow. To build virtual fences, etc. To control the flow and THEN work toward "reform".

What has happened? Nothing, except it is worse and more violent than ever, more of a drain on States like Arizona with more robbeies, drugs, killings than ever. And now the politicians are playing the same game.

If the Dems had guts, they would change the law and open the borders to anyone, but they know it would be disastrous for them at the polls, and so they play these games with people's lives and property.

Things are out of control and getting worse and it is the federal government's fault.

If I had money I'd vacation in Arizona asap. ;-)
