I'M LISTENING TO THE FATHER OF USMC CPL. JOSEPH D. LOGAN RECOUNT THE PAIN AND ANGER FROM RECEIVING A TYPED 'FORM LETTER' FROM BARACK OBAMA EARLIER THIS YEAR

Tom Logan, whose son, Joseph D. Logan, 21, was killed Jan. 19, 2012, sent the letter back to the White House noting on it that the letter, which arrived by UPS truck four months after Cpl. Logan’s death, “opened up a wound in our heart you can’t fix. You can’t send another letter. You can’t make it right.”

Logan described the letter as "impersonal", a sense that was confirmed when he shared it with station KPRC in Houston. Reporters there compared the letter with two others Obama had sent to families of soldiers killed in action.

Except for the name, rank, and service branch, the letters were identical: All were typed, short (about a third of a page), and impersonal.

My heart goes out to Mr. Logan and the families of all out fallen heroes who deserve so much better ... whether murdered in consulates like in Benghazi or killed in action serving our country.

And I am so angry that so many who were so concerned about reporting each and every death over the previous 2 terms for political reasons are suddenly MIA when it comes to reporting the conditions and terms of engagement in which our brave men and women have to do their duty today.

They, their parents, families and friends deserve so much more than a form letter four months late.
