WHEN I REFLECT ON THE FACT THAT THERE ARE STILL PEOPLE, EVEN IF THEY ARE IN THE 'MINORITY' WHO CHERISH AMERICA, IT GIVES ME HOPE AND i GIVE THANKS

Yep, even though A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is one of the less popular entries, it still blew the competition out of the water and viewership continues to rise.

Pretty good for a 40 year-old re-run, huh?

And elements of the "New America" hate that ... too much of all that "God stuff".

I watch these old specials with a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye because they remind me of so many things and people gone, and how some things will never again be.

A sample.

From Linus' speech at the Thanksgiving dinner:

"In the year 1621, the Pilgrims held their first Thanksgiving feast. They invited the great Indian chief Massasoit, who brought ninety of his brave Indians and a great abundance of food. Governor William Bradford and Captain Miles Standish were honored guests. Elder William Brewster, who was a minister, said a prayer that went something like this: 'We thank God for our homes and our food and our safety in a new land. We thank God for the opportunity to create a new world for freedom and justice." - Linus Van Pelt
I think a a little boy tried to utter such words in most schools today he might be sent home, suspended, or worse.

You DO know that what is taught about Thanksgiving in schools today is not the real story of Thanksgiving, right?

Don't worry.

Many of us do ... and we teach it to anyone who will listen. It's about faith, freedom, individualism, private property, hard work, sharing and recognizing the source of our bounty ... no, not native Americans, not "collectivism" ... but our Creator.

And if anyone doesn't like that, they can go pound a pumpkin.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

I have so much to be thankful for and I hope you do too.
