As a student and instructor of the Saul Alinsky philosophy, this is what he does and has always done … along with the Democrat Party and the left in general.

Rule Thirteen: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.

Alinsky explained:

“In conflict tactics there are certain rules that the organizer should always regard as universalities. One is that the opposition must be singled out as the target and “frozen.” By this I mean that in a complex, interrelated, urban society, it becomes increasingly difficult to single out who is to blame for any particular evil.”

This whole class warfare strategy is time-tested and predictable and extremely seductive.

Couple it with an in-the-tank liberal media to carry the message and advance the narrative and muddy the facts and it becomes very time-consuming and complicated to refute.

Like this whole Bain Capital narrative, first introduced unsuccessfully in the Republican Primaries by Newt Gingrich, which landed with a heavy thud. It's so easily dismissed but of course the media will not do any fact-checking. How private equity companies like Bain have accomplished far FAR MORE good than they have had "failures".

Compare Obama's record with throwing down BILLIONS of TAXPAYER dollars helping fund boondoggles like Solyndra and the growing list of failed (crony capitalist) green energy companies.

And, of course, the left knows that most people cannot keep up with the actual facts and simply throwing mud up on the wall works on enough people to make a difference.

Like the current hilarity with President Obama and his slobbering media advancing the gibberish that what we have been seeing for over three years is not what we think … that Obama is (sit down) a FISCAL CONSERVATIVE and it is those dastardly Republicans and George Bush that is responsible for Obama’s $5 plus TRILLION deficit and the massive growth of the size of government.

And so we are subjected to the same old same old Obama talking points … who do you want, Obama? Who wants to reduce the deficit and limit spending, or Mitt Romney who is one of those bad old Republicans who caused all this out-of-control spending and destroyed the economy.

Yep … look around.

See all this misery? See how things are MUCH worse than they were 4 years ago?

Gas prices.
Food prices.
Two million fewer people working.
Green bankruptcies and scandals.
A national debt more than the total GDP.
Stimulus slush funds that went to the public sector, unions and Obama’s pals.
Sinking housing market.
Wars against (conservative) women and blacks.
Assaults against the First Amendment and the Catholic Church.

Three years of almost total disaster … so much so that Obama cannot run on his record and so must change the subject and run as if he’s running for the first time and try to convince those in the middle he’s not the big-spending spread-the-wealth big government power hungry post-Constitutional all-controlling statist his record shows him to be.

And that all we have to do is give him another 4 years and surrender a big chunk of our liberty in the process.

And the scary thing is there are close to 50% of the people of this country who are ready to willingly vote to be enslaved … and the rest of us in the process.

And for what?

Some perverted promise of “equality” in which trickle-down misery will be shared by larger and larger numbers of people … all controlled and administered by a minority elite above us pulling our strings.

And how can they accomplish this? Divide and conquer, one group at a time. It’s the time-tested strategy wherever tyranny and authoritarianism reign:

Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.

And make no mistake about it.

Today’s liberalism is all about tyranny and authoritarianism, and populated with people who want to control each and every aspect of our lives.

That’s why they cannot tolerate this constitutional republic the founding fathers left us ... why facts and truth are so easily dismissed.
