George Zimmerman was found "not guilty" tonight.

All the king's horses and all the king's men, neither the politicians, nor the pundits, not the media, not the activists, not the race-baiters ... all obsessed with a frenzy and mob mentality that was disgusting to watch ... in the end, they had no case.

Instead we have their documented efforts to lie, to smear, to doctor audio tapes, to incite - and it is all so ugly. The media in particular have been absolutely over-the-top disgraceful and, in some cases, hopefully, liable for damages in a court of law for libel, slander, and broadcasting information that was intentionally manufactured to make the accused look racist, irresponsible, and guilty in the court of public opinion.

Even in the last couple of days they have been all but calling for violence in the streets. Warning about "protests" and even riots should Zimmerman be judged not guilty. Publicizing those who have been calling for it - which they love to do when they want to pressure an individual, a group, and organization, a people to give them what they want.

In this case, they wanted the head of George Zimmerman.

The parents of Trayvon Martin were not in the courtroom when the verdict was announced.

Perhaps they were tipped off. perhaps, in their heart, they knew there was no case.

My heart goes out to them. They lost a child. What could be worse.

And in their grief they were used and exploited - which is most dispicable.

As were liberals of good heart. You have been lied to. Again and again in so many ways. Whenever I heard someone say "Oh, yeah, what about so and so ..." and tried to educate them on the facts, that what they believed was not true, I was reminded of how nearly impossible it is to get through to people when they are fed lies and/or believe what they want to believe.

Almost everything you heard about this case was twisted or fabricated or based on initial impressions or misinformation - and so much that WAS factual was ignored.

But for now, I am happy that, just this once time, justice has been served and the opportunists and exploiters have been dealt a setback.

Tomorrow the battle against those who have no shame, who will say and do anything to advance their agenda continues.

Tonight I will say a prayer for all those good people who have been affected by this tragedy.

Where there's light there's hope.

On the bright side, Zimmerman will fuck up again. On the bad side, Zimmerman will fuck up again.

How dare Zimmerman have defended himself? Didn't he know that it was his duty as a "white Hispanic" to just lie there and let himself be beat to death if a black person, his racial superior, chose to kill him for the obvious insult of asking the black person what he was doing?

I'm sure that in your case, Yama, you'd have done the right thing and let Martin kill you. Right?
Jul. 15th, 2013 06:50 pm (UTC)
I wouldn't know; I wouldn't be following Martin around.
Jul. 15th, 2013 07:05 pm (UTC)
Indeed you wouldn't. You'd never stick your neck out to defend your community, in any way shape or form.

Do you then believe that "following Martin around" gave Martin legitimate provocation to physically attack Martin?

Suppose you followed someone around and -- oh, I don't know -- told some of your hacker buddies to mess with his system. Would it be ok if that guy then beat the crap out of you? Would you agree not to attempt to defend yourself if this happened?

I'm not even talking about myself, Yama. Nor am I threatening you. But you should know that if you consent to this, there's a line already forming to take advantage of the opportunity.

How dare YOU, of all people, claim that simply following someone on the street when he acts suspiciously is legitimate provocation for assault and battery, when you are one of the worst and most unrepentant stalkers I have ever encountered?

Well, we're not going to beat you up, Yama. But we're going to make you look very, very stupid.

Defend my community from what, a kid with skittles and tea?

And, yes, if Martin attacked Zimmer Man, then it was self defense.

Defend my community from what, a kid with skittles and tea?

A six foot tall 17-year-old (and note, Zimmerman couldn't just put his cursor over Martin's icon and push a "scan" key to get his vitals) who was wandering around, walking on people's lawns and peering into their houses. Zimmerman also didn't know whether or not Martin was armed, for the same reason. And Martin proceeded to prove that he was dangerous by screaming-and-leaping on Zimmerman, with no apparent provocation other than merely being asked his business.

And, yes, if Martin attacked Zimmerman, then it was self defense.

Glad that you realize that.

A 17-year-old, BTW, who was there because of a burglary that he committed elsewhere. Which was not properly reported in order to limit the number of crimes linked to his school.

Oh, and the "tea" was actually fruit juice. Not that fruit juice is a deadlier weapon.
Jul. 15th, 2013 07:20 pm (UTC)
Does that matter? Only if it's like stereotypical "lol blacks and watermelon" bollocks.
Jul. 15th, 2013 07:32 pm (UTC)
It actually was watermelon juice. Why, are black people forbidden from eating "stereotypical" foods?
Jul. 15th, 2013 07:40 pm (UTC)
Everybody likes watermelon.

I suspect an agenda from the person who let the internet know it was watermelon juice in the first place.

"Defend my community from what, a kid with skittles and tea?"

Did you miss the part about burglaries and home invasions stated in the trial by several witnesses?

"And, yes, if Martin attacked Zimmer Man, then it was self defense."

Self Defense from what? Being followed? That's not sufficient cause for reasonable fear of harm.

Did you twig to the fact that Rachael Jeantel stated that Martin had reached the back of his father's home and then returned up to where Zimmerman and he got into the altercation?

According to the actual facts:

1) Zimmerman was not simply following TM. There had been a rash of burglaries. There were street gangs in the area and their clothing of choice was hoodies and black clothing.

2) TM was staying at his father's girlfriend's house a short distance from where Zimmerman saw him. He was there because he had been suspended twice from school (only because of the local law officials) for "school infractions" and NOT the burglary of a bag of jewels he had been caught with.

3) As you know, Zimmerman was heading back to his vehicle after the non-emergency dispatcher (no police) advised him "We don't need you to do that (follow him)" when he told the dispatcher he had just noticed Martin was now coming toward him.

4) All of the forensic evidence supported Zimmerman and his neighbor's testimony that TM was the aggressor.

a) Zimmerman had a broken nose, bruises and lacerations in the back of his head.
b) Zimmerman's back was wet from the grass.
c) TM's knees were wet from the grass.
d) TM's knuckles were bruised and had no other injuries except the gunshot wound.
e) There was no DNA sample on TM to indicate any defensive struggle - like under his fingernails from grabbing Zimmerman.

Of course there's more - but to want Zimmerman's head requires one to ignore every piece of actual evidence and hold onto all the fables created by the media and the pundits. But then when do these people who want to advance agendas ever want to deal with facts.

Your neighborhood has a series of breakins what do you do?

Do you sit dumb fat and happy and ignore what happens to your neighbors?

Or do you take action, help out and watch out for your neighbors?

By the way, Yama, has it entered your empty head that under the same racialist code which made it "racist" for Zimmerman to defend himself against a black man it's also "racist" for you to do so? You claim to be part Southeast Asian, but it's far from obvious looking at your photographs, you have an "Anglo" name (Andrew Marston), and in any case Southeast Asians have far less "nonwhite" cred than do African-Americans.
Jul. 15th, 2013 07:19 pm (UTC)
I do? Where did I claim anything?
I'm only a quarter English.

The photograph with the killer bunny? I have no idea who that is and I don't know why anyone would think it was me.
Jul. 15th, 2013 07:31 pm (UTC)
Well, Yama, whatever you are, you're most definitely not from your photos a black man, and race-sensitive laws in America discriminate against Southeastern and Eastern Asians. So you're on the wrong side of the benefits.
Jul. 15th, 2013 07:39 pm (UTC)
What photos?
Jul. 15th, 2013 05:49 pm (UTC)
Re: Andrew Marston's (yama's) comment:

Does anyone find it even remotely funny that the standard of conduct implicitly urged here -- whites have no right to ask blacks their business save in the most respectful manner, and are subject to severe beatings if they have the temerity to be even slightly rude in such a request -- is just the inverse of the way that blacks were treated by whites in the Old South?

Martin parents got a 1 million dollar settlement from the housing association's liability insurance (of which 33% will go to Crump, their instigator lawyer, and half to taxes).

So they got payout number one, but likely won't get anything further. And will be dumped on the garbage now that their usefulness is passed.
